Quick Blog Question:
Which is more critical in my opinion is water pollution. I believe this to be more harmful because if there is a lack of water in your area, water from other places can be delivered; however, if there is a large amount of water but it is contaminated, then you can not drink that water unless it is purified.
ISAS
1. That does not mean that Jimmy Hendricks did use any water because water was used in the process of making the fruit juice. For example, water was used to: make the container, water the fruits, and to hydrate the farmers.
2. At least three indirect uses of water associated with producing a loaf of bread is: watering the corn used to create corn starch, water used to manufacture the plates and bowls used to make the bread, water that is preheated, milk that came from cows that drank water, and sugar that came from sugar cane that required water to grow.
8. The world's total water has changed in the past 100 year and 1 million years but not to a huge extent. In the United States, about 15 trillion liters of rain or snow falls in the United States but only 10 % is used by humans. The rest falls again as part of the hydrologic cycle.
9. Oceans, glaciers, water vapor, rivers
10. This quote would be true if you are stuck in the middle of the ocean, and you are thirsty with no more bottled-water left. You are surrounded by salt-water, but if you drink it, it will only make you thirstier.
11. 77% of water is used in irrigation and agriculture in the West Region.
12.
a. 280 / 211 = 1.32 Answer: 132%
b. 280 / 9= 31.11 Answer: .3%
13. It might be possible that a molecule of water you drank was once swallowed by a dinosaur because the dinosaur's urine could end up in the ocean and evaporate into the atmosphere and eventually after many times of going through the hydrologic cycle, the molecule would end up being consumed by you.
17. This is a discrepancy because the per capita means "For each person; in relation to people taken individually,"so each person can either consumer 370 L or 4960 L of water daily, which are huge portions of water. The source that said that people consume 370 L is referring to direct water use, and the source that said that people consume 4960 L of water daily is referring to people using indirect water use.

A.5
1. a. the East: Steam/electric
b. the South: Steam/electric
c. the Midwest: Steam/electric
d. the West: Irrigation/agricultural
e. Alaska: Mining
f. Hawaii: Irrigation/agricultural
2. The differences of how water is used in the East compared to how it is used in the West is in the Irrigation/agricultural and Steam/electric. The East uses 67% more water in the Steam/electric field then the West. The West uses 76% more water in the irrigation/agricultural field then the East. The West has better weather for farming than the East, and the East has more factories than the West, and colder weather.
3. The weather in the East is cold and there is less land so they use the most water in the steam/electric field. The South has unpredictable weather and a tight economy so they use more water in the steam/electric field. The Midwest is very hot, flat, and not a lot of water to farm so they use more water in the steam electric field. The West has very predictable and agriculturally good weather so we they use more water in the irrigation/agricultural field. Alaska is to cold to grow crops and is rich in minerals to mine, therefore they use more water in the mining field. Hawaii does not have a shortage of water and has perfect weather for growing crops and that is why they use more water in the irrigation/agricultural field.
