18. What would happen to the Earth's hydrologic cycle if water evaporation suddenly stopped would be that no water would be going into the atmosphere so there would be no precipitation and the hydrologic cycle wouldn't exist.
19. The hydrologic cycle would be different because water as a solid is when there is precipitation in the form of hail or snow, water as a liquid would be water in the ocean, rivers, or lakes that can be evaporated or precipitated, and water as a gas would be water vapor that was evaporated.
20. The EPA limits the concentration of THMs to 80 ppb because THM is chloroform, a carcinogen which is a substance that is known to cause cancer.
21. The foul-water lab process can be related to the natural purification of water because in both use the sand-filtration method, charcoal adsorption and distillation can relate to bacteria that convert dissolved organic contaminants into a few simple compounds and evaporation, which removes nearly all dissolved substances.
